Brilliant second instalment of the Fin Butler adventures.
This book was even more enjoyable than the first. It builds on the original
storyline and characters of the first book. Where the story is going is not
always predictable with its twists and turns and the entangled web of the
characters, story, plot and journey are firmly fixed in the reading ability of
most teens and adults. This book is non put-downable at times! A must read for
your bookshelf!

This is the third instalment of the Adventures of Fin
Butler. In this episode, Fin goes on an adventure with a mermaid as well as his
friends from ravenswood. He comes face to face with the wyvern and has to find
a way to protect himself and his friends. This book builds on the previous two
books, brining in themes that have already been introduced by the author at a
previous date.
The book is again full of twists and turns. Some of which you can predict, but
many that come as a surprise, increasing the suspense and enjoyment of the
book. A really good holiday read for both young people and older adults alike.

Once I had suspended my adulthood and crawled into the enquiring mind of a

all believable; their interactions, squabbles and friendships well written.
So much can be said about this book. It brings about
imagination, symbolism, suspense and intrigue. I don't normally read fantasy
books but this one reminded me of Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. Animals
and fictional species intermingle with humans and create a new world of
unordinary circumstances. While this book is intended for ages 9-18 year olds,
I believe it to be an interesting read for adults as well. If you love fantasy,
Fin Butler and the Clockwork Phoenix - in my opinion - is a great start to a
soon-to-be well known series.

A really good read, well written , full of action and it captures
you from the first page, you quickly
find you have lost a day and need to find out what happens . I cared about the
characters, they are believable and very real , very much in the Harry Potter
style ,full of imagination and creativity . Having two 12 year olds , who don't
rush to pick up books , I can vouch for the fact that it's a great buy for the
reluctant tween reader , kept mine quiet for hours, but I really enjoyed it as
well . Looking forward to the next one
